I recently visited this store and walked out, every roll of paper has an opened roll for if you wish to get a sample, the roll of wallpaper I really liked didn't have a roll open, so we asked if we could have a sample of this paper and was told no as it there was no more open, he showed us a different paper with a large pattern saying that it was similar to this if we wanted a sample of that, how on earth would a similar roll of wallpaper give me the exact match for which I wanted to see if it would match my main wall at home, will NEVER go to this store again, I would give no starts if this would let me.

I have bought all my wallpaper, and indeed my carpets, from Les Paynes in recent years and have returned on a regular basis as I find the staff will always go out of their way to assist. They are very pleasant and helpful, and indeed on one occasion when a particular wallpaper I wanted was not in stock and I needed it urgently, even offered to travel to the supplier to obtain it to ensure I got it in the timeframe required. I always try to support small businesses over the larger firms and confess I would not hesitate to give a negative comment if I felt it was warranted, however in respect of this particular store I can only again state that my own experiences have been extremely good.

After using Les Paynes for over 20years, my 80 year old mother and father ordered 11 rolls of wallpaper from the new people who are now renting the shop. They were told they would have to pay £10 per box delivery which came to £20 as there are only 9 rolls in a box, however when shopping in xxxxx the same paper is only £10 per roll and no delivery charge even though the amount needed had to be ordered.
Having the decency to phone Les Paynes shop to cancel and explain why my mother was spoken to abruptly and rudely and told that they didn't need customers like her before hanging up on her. Not only where they disrespectful but did not give my mother chance to explain that she just wanted to save £75, and that my father was even offering to pay the delivery so the shop owner was not out of pocket.
So if you like to be abused and pushed into a sale whilst looking for paper go to Les Paynes, it was never like this when the namesake had it, the shop was homely and a pleasure to look round, them days are gone now.

I'm not normally a wallpaper fan and I find shopping for wallpaper hard work . . .or I was until I went to Les Paynes. The staff there were so patient, advised when asked to, on colours, on coverage, rolls per room etc. They couldn't have been nicer.
Big clean well lit space, lots of natural light, and lots and lots of choice.
There was such a nice range of papers . All price ranges, all great quality and all available within a very short time frame if not already in stock. I'm just about to revisit them for some paper for my living room and I'm looking forward to it.

Have bought wall paper from les paynes a number of times over the years, the stock they carry is beautiful,and if you want something a little special their Italian range is fab, the staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble.
